The next batch of future stars will hear their names called beginning on Sunday, July 17 in Los Angeles, Calif. (site of this year’s MLB All-Star Game).

The Athletic is out with its latest first-round mock. Here’s what it sees the Big Apple’s ballclubs doing.
11. Mets: Jace Jung, 2B, Texas Tech
Jace has spent the last two seasons obliterating baseballs for the Red Raiders. He’s walked more than he’s struck out each year at Texas Tech, and he’s hit for power as a middle infielder. … The Mets might not be banking on him playing second base as a major-leaguer, but the bat is good enough … to work at a corner outfield spot.
14. Mets: Connor Prielipp, LHP, Alabama
A contender to be 1-1 entering the season, Prielipp instead didn’t throw a single pitch this college season as he recovers from Tommy John surgery he had in late May 2021, and his three-year tenure at Alabama consists of seven total appearances.
25. Yankees: Brock Jones, OF, Stanford
Brock Jones is a left-handed outfielder who is athletic with raw power, but needs some development to be consistent at the plate.
