EL PASO, Texas- Powerbull Bat Company Co-owner Kurt Gross enjoyed the experience of a lifetime before the MLB All-Star Game at Dodger Stadium.
All thanks to 2014 and 2015 El Paso Chihuahua star Cody Decker who asked Gross if he and his son could lend the stadium a hand.
ESPN and MLB needed help testing game logistics in the stadium and a new camera system that pops up at home plate giving viewers the experience of taking a Major League pitch!
Gross and his son, who is a collegiate pitcher, jumped at the opportunity.
The El Paso bat company owner was able to pitch batting practice to his son while MLB and ESPN officials collected data from his swings to the direction the ball traveled after being hit.
He told ABC-7, “You think about all the memories. The Kirk Gibson home run and everything else that has happened in Dodger Stadium. The all time greats to the hall of farmers that have played there. It was an experience. I kind of joke you could hear angels singing as we walked through the center field gates of center field.”
