Entering his 20th NBA season, LeBron James has always maintained that he wants to play long enough to share the court with his oldest son, Bronny, once he enters the NBA, but the James family production line isn’t done there.
LeBron’s youngest son, Bryce Maximus James, is starting to make a name for himself at 15 years old, playing for Sierra Canyon School and the Strive For Greatness AAU team.
While the younger James’ high school class is yet to have rankings, some evaluators believe Bryce could be the better NBA prospect of the two brothers.
As Bryce gets set to play on ESPN with his AAU squad this week, get to know more about the future NBA prospect, who will look to add to the long list of second-generation NBA players.
How good is Bryce James?
Since transferring to Sierra Canyon School in May 2019, Bryce has played for the prestigious high school program, the same school attended by his older brother Bronny.
While much of the focus has been on the older James brother, a recent growth spurt and some impressive AAU outings have seen Bryce step into the spotlight. LeBron recently shared a picture standing side by side with his younger son, who is already nearly as tall as his Hall of Fame father.

Given he is in the ninth grade, there are no rankings available for Bryce to compare him to his classmates. However, the similarities to LeBron are striking, with the Los Angeles Lakers star posting a photo of Bryce dunking, referring to him as “my twin.”
Breaking down Bryce James’ game
Standing near 6-foot-6, Bryce still has plenty more growing to do, but for his age, he has all the physical tools.
While Bronny is more of a playmaking guard, Bryce’s size allows him to attack the basket at will, swallow rebounds and get out in transition.
The striking feature of his game is his ability and confidence shooting the ball, an area you can tell he has focused on. In 2018, LeBron declared the then 11-year-old was already the “best shooter in the household.”
