On the other hand, the Washington Wizards do not appear to be heading in that direction. In fact, they just extended star guard Bradley Beal on a massive deal. They must be aware that their title odds are slim next season, but their goal is likely to get as close as they can.
Assuming that’s true, they should be pursuing impact veterans on rebuilding teams. Like, for example, Mike Conley on the Utah Jazz.
