Indian opener Shubman Gill might be playing for Glamorgan for the remainder of the English county season subject to visa approval, a report in ESPNcricinfo confirmed on Wednesday.
Gill was the Player of the Series in the recently concluded 3-match ODI series against Zimbabwe. He scored his maiden ODI century in the third ODI off just 82 balls and is in terrific form.
Gill will be the seventh Indian player to turn up for a county side this season after Cheteshwar Pujara (Sussex), Washington Sundar (Lancashire), Krunal Pandya, Mohammed Siraj (both Warwickshire), Umesh Yadav (Middlesex) and Navdeep Saini (Kent).
He will also be just the third Indian after Ravi Shastri and Sourav Ganguly to play for Glamorgan in the County Championship. Currently, they play in Division 2 where they are in the 3rd spot.
