WHEELING — More than 72 golfers recently descended onto the Paradise Hills Golf Course in Yorkville for the Elks Panhandle Lodge #74 Annual Charity Golf Scramble.
The lodge’s commitment to the community is to advance the lives of young people through education, and the event raised more than $8,000 dollars for students to attend a school of higher learning of their choice.
All the golfers were treated to sunshine, green fairways and their favorite beverage, along with prizes and lunch made for a winner.
All of this was made possible through sponsors IBEW Local 71, Jochun Refuse Service, Bridge Tavern & Grill and many more community sponsors.
This year’s winners were local golfers from the Ohio Valley. Frank Baegga of Clearview, W.Va.; Josh Miller of Rayland; Rich Cross of Warwood; and Mike Fluharty, also of Clearview.
The 19th Annual Elks Panhandle Lodge #74 Golf Scramble will be Sept. 17, 2023 at Paradise Hills Golf Course in Yorkville.
