Erik ten Hag says he will “deal with” Cristiano Ronaldo after his early exit in Manchester United’s 2-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur.
Ronaldo was an unused substitute as his United team-mates swept aside Antonio Conte’s side on Wednesday night, thanks to goals from Fred and Bruno Fernandes.
The Portugal international walked down the tunnel before the full-time whistle after failing to make it onto the pitch.
Asked about Ronaldo’s hasty exit, Erik ten Hag told Amazon: “I have seen him (leaving), I didn’t speak to him after. I will deal with that tomorrow.”
The Dutchman added in his press conference: “I want to get focus on this team, it was a magnificent performance from all 11 players. I have to correct myself, it was a performance (also from) the subs who came on. A squad performance.”
