Hello again, everybody! I’m here with your fresh copy of the Huntington Daily, filled with all the community news you need to know right now. Today’s briefing includes updates on…
- Check out five new homes to hit the market.
- Veterans and military members will golf for free at town course on Veteran’s Day.
- Perles family gearing up for 18th annual Halloween bake sale fundraiser.
But first, today’s weather:
Breezy with sun, some clouds. High: 57 low: 42.
š¢ Iām looking for business owners and marketers in Huntington who want to build awareness, connect with customers and increase sales.
I have a limited number of sponsorships available to introduce our Huntington Daily readers to local businesses they need to know about. If thatās you, then I invite you to learn more and secure your spot now.
Here are the top three stories today in Huntington:
- Check out five new homes to hit the market. The homes are all located in the Town of Huntington and range in price and size. Interest rates are now the highest they’ve been in twenty years which means the seller’s market has vanished on Long Island and buying opportunities are great. See the homes in the link. (Huntington Patch)
- Veterans and military members will golf for free at town course on Veteran’s Day. The Town of Oyster Bay announced it will allow active-members and veterans free golf on Wednesday, Nov. 11. Golfers must present proof of town residency and either military identification or discharge papers (DD Form 214) when they arrive for a free round. The club is located in Woodbury. (Patch)
- Perles family gearing up for 18th annual Halloween bake sale fundraiser. The event will be at 39 Kalmia St. in East Northport and run from 3 p.m. until supplies last. All proceeds will go to the Northport Food Pantry. Click the link to see a menu of items that will be available. (Patch)

From my notebook:
- Huntington Union Free School District: Blue Devil field hockey loses to Ward Melville in County Semifinals, 2-0. āYesterday was the hardest day in my athletic career,ā said Laurel Bonn, who tallied 14 goals and six assists and is a county offensive powerhouse. āItās heartbreaking to say goodbye to the sport I love most. However, I am so beyond proud of our season and couldnāt imagine playing with any other team of girls.ā (Huntington Union Free School District via Facebook)

- South Huntington Public Library: “We can’t get enough of Colleen Hoover! While you wait for your holds of this popular author’s books to come in, try some of these read-alikes and you may just discover a new author!” (South Huntington Public Library via Facebook)
- Nextdoor Neighbor, Bright News York: “Hello neighbors, – Is there an outdoor ice-skating ring on Long Island? Would especially love to find frozen pond or lake or something like that. Thank you in advance.” (Nextdoor)
