ESCANABA – The apple did not fall far from the tree at the Jenn Brody home in Grand Blanc.
Daughter Kate Brody of Grand Blanc High School has been named Miss Golf Michigan after winning her second MHSAA Division 1 state golf championship. She also won the state title in 2020.
Jenn ((Kangas) Brody, a 2021 inductee into the Upper Peninsula Sports Hall of Fame, is a native of L’Anse and former UPLGA champion who also played golf at Michigan State University.
Jenn Brody was inducted into the Michigan Golf Hall of Fame Oct. 16, a day after her daughter won the state D-1 championship.
The younger Brody won 10 – of 11 – invitational tournaments this fall while averaging 69.2 strokes per tourney. She shot 73-72 – 145 to win the state title in October..
This past fall she set a course record at The Fortress at Frankenmuth with a 62.
