The New Year’s Day clash scheduled between the Sydney Sixers and Melbourne Renegades at C.ex Coffs International Stadium in Coffs Harbour has been abandoned due to rain.
Players were out on the field with officials for much of the pre-match, but spots of rain continued to add to an already difficult task of drying a pitch that had been hit with plenty throughout the day.
A cutoff time of 9:35PM AEDT was in place, with a 10-over game to be played if play went ahead at that time, but it was ultimately called off just before 9PM.

“The outfield is a little bit soggy and obviously a bit more rain is starting to come down now,” Renegades veteran Aaron Finch said as umpires assessed the ground.
“It’s a real shame actually because the wicket looked like it was going to be a really good surface and this outfield, it’s an unbelievable stadium to be playing at.”
The Sixers were coming off a win over the Heat in a low-scoring thriller, while the Renegades were thrashed by the Hurricanes.
