ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine track and field team hosted the University of Maine Open Invitational, a non-scoring meet, in the New Balance Maine Fieldhouse on Sunday afternoon.
Mackenzie Wilson moved to third place the UMaine all-time weight throw list with her distance of 17.15 meters. The distance netted her second place. Erica Magnuson finished in third in the same event with her toss of 16.28 meters.
Jass Farag cleared 3.40 meters in the pole vault for a first place finish.
In the high jump, Ashley Martinez’s jump of 1.65 meters earned her the top spot in the event.
Emma White finished the triple jump in first place after she came to rest at 11.40 meters.
The Black Bears dominated the mile run with athletes finishing first, second, third, and fourth. Alexa Brenna, 5:35.83, Jordan Ramos, 5:54.16, Rachel Chase, 5:54.89, and Cassandra Lucci, 6:03.29, were the four successful runners from UMaine.
Darcy Cochran completed the 60 meter hurdles in 9.12 seconds, while Katherine Cowan clocked in at 9.15 seconds. The teammates finished the event in first and second place, respectively.
Bringing her talents from the soccer pitch, Tegan Morrison posted a first place mark of 1:19.30 in the 500 meter run.
Lydia Gilmore, 10:41.16, and Marlee Yoder, 10:45.67, finished one and two in the 3000 meter run.
