BOZEMAN, Montana – Montana State sophomore Daan Van Dijk helped lead Montana State to a pair of team wins over teh weekend, and on Tuesday was rewarded with an individual award. The Big Sky Conference named Van Dijk its Men’s Tennis Player of the Week on Tuesday, his first such honor.
Van Dijk won both his singles matches at the No. 2 ladder spot on the weekend, and teamed with Matej Panik to win both his doubles matches. The Bobcats beat both Seattle 6-1 on Friday and Oral Roberts by the same score on Sunday. Van Dijk, from Bergen, Netherlands, is now 5-1 in singles play this season, and he and Panik are 4-1.
The Bobcats now stand 5-1 as a team this season, 1-0 in Big Sky play, and return to action by hosting Whitworth and Whitman in a doubleheader on February 12.
