The Uvalde Lobos scored early and often as they rolled to a 10-0 over the San Antonio Young Women’s Leadership Academy Cardinals last Friday Night.
Playing before a large crowd on a cold night at the Uvalde High School soccer field, the Lobos scored three times during the first 11 minutes of the match.
Less than a minute into the contest, Jaqueline Cardenas scored off of an assist by Andrea Perez off of a corner kick.
Abby Kone tallied an unassisted goal to put the Lobos ahead, 2-0, with 37 minutes left in the first half.
Fiona White scored off of an assist by Alexis Silva to extend the Uvalde scoring lead to 3-0.
White later hit on a goal off of an assist by Kasidy Hernandez.
One minute later, Desiree Vera took a pass from Hernandez and scored.
Uvalde’s sixth goal of the half came on a shot by Alexis Silva with 9:21 left. She was assisted on the goal by Jaqueline Cardenas.
Up 6-0, to the Uvaldeans scored for additional goals, while shutting out the YWLA girls.
Abby Kone scored two goals to earn the hat trick with three goals for the night.
Alexis Silva assisted on one of Kone’s goals.
Later, Andrea Perez scored on a long crossing shot. She was assisted by Silva.
Ahlaynah Barrientos scored with an assist from Nixon Halvelka to put the Lobos ahead, 10-0, with 22:41 remaining in the match.
Coach Keith Pendleton emptied his bench and played reserve personnel the rest of the way.
Tomorrow night, the Lobos will be back in action when the take on the Somerset Lady Bulldogs at Somerset.
The varsity match is set for 7 p.m. and will be preceded by a junior varsity match at 5 p.m.
Tuesday night at Hondo, the Lobos rolled to an 11-0 win over the Hondo Owls.
Abby Kone scored the hat trick as she racked up three goals.
Alexis Silva made two goals, while Kasidy Hernandez, Andrea Perez, Ahlaynah Barrientos, Nixon Havelka, Makayla Rivera, and Jayden Pulido each contributed one goal.
