MOREHEAD, Ky. —
Teeing off for the first time this spring, men’s golf travels to Jurupa Valley, California to take part in The Joust.
“We are excited to get back on the course for the spring season. Everyone has worked hard in the weight room and on the course when given the opportunity,” head coach Matthew Martin said.
The Eagles will be sending a team of five golfers consisting of Joe Muschong, Zac Viminitz, Cameron Travis, Ryan Gillum, and Nolan Piazza, while Blake Evans will compete as an individual. The field includes a collection of teams from the West Coast, including host California Baptist.
The Joust continues to be a tournament like no other, as three awards will be given out after the final round concludes; an individual medalist, a team champion and an All-Five team champion will be crowned.
“There will be some competitive rust, but we will try our best on every single shot,” Martin added.
The two-day, 54-hole event tees off Monday from Goose Creek Golf Club before concluding Tuesday. This will be Morehead State’s first appearance at The Joust.
