LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Bellarmine women’s tennis team had a short trip to the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center at the University of Louisville for its eighth match of the season.  The Knights lost to the cross-town Cards by a final score of 6-0.

U of L used a pair of strong performances in no. 2 and no. 3 doubles to lock up the doubles point.  Madison Devillez and Rose Pastoret did not finish their match with the other results already in, but the no. 1 doubles pair was deadlocked 3-3 with Louisville’s Rhea Verma and Sasha Gorchanyuk when play stopped.

The Cardinals followed with a singles sweep, besting Bellarmine in the first ever meeting between the two programs as Division I foes.

Bellarmine traveled to Knoxville, Tenn. Saturday night as they prepare to face the no. 20 team in the country on Sunday morning – the Tennessee Volunteers.  The action begins at 11:00 a.m.
