LEXINGTON, Va. – The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) released its initial Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll on Friday and the Washington and Lee men’s golf team sits in the Top 15.

The Generals compiled 244 points and are ranked 13th in the poll.  Emory University accrued 497 points and remains the top-ranked team in Division III.  Methodist is second with 477 points, while Babson is third with 439 points.  Huntingdon (427), Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (422), Wittenberg (387), Carnegie Mellon (379), Illinois Wesleyan (366), Greensboro (308) and Willamette (266) rounded out the Top 10.

W&L played four events during the fall season, producing a pair of Top 5 finishes in the process.  The Generals ended the fall with a fourth-place showing at the O’Brient-Jensen Memorial in Greensboro.

The Blue & White notched a 302.5 team scoring average led by junior Pierce Robinson (Kings Mountain, N.C. / Thomas Jefferson Classical), who averaged 74.13 strokes over eight rounds played.

The spring schedule begins for the Generals on March 7-8 when they travel to Savannah, Ga., to participate in the Savannah Intercollegiate held at the Savannah Harbor Golf Club.
