The town of Westport is having its 13th annual community shred day from 9 a.m. to noon on Sept. 24 at the Green’s Farms train station, located at 2 Post Office Lane. Each household may shred up to eight paper bags or three boxes that are 12 inches by 18 inches. Each car will be charged $10. Proof of a Westport residency is required. Northamptonshire Cricket has signed Somerset fast bowler Ollie Sale. The 26-year-old has signed a two-year deal. Northants released seamers Nathan Buck and Brandon Glover earlier this week. They viewed Sale as a player who can help the team in all three formats. Sale is a tall right-handed pitcher who came through the Somerset programme but has suffered injuries. He had back surgery in 2015 and made his senior T20 debut the following summer.
