The Supreme Court of India on Wednesday accepted the proposed changes in the Board of Control for Cricket in India’s constitution, which will allow current president Sourav Ganguly and secretary Jay Shah to get an extension to their respective terms. The board had put in a plea for modification of its constitution on mandatory cooling off period and tenure of its office bearers. The apex court in its order stated that office bearers can have continuous tenure of 12 years which includes six years in State Association and six years in BCCI. Both Ganguly and Shah’s three-year term in the BCCI…
By Barry Holbrook: Anthony Joshua is already in the gym training for his mega-fight against Tyson Fury on December 3rd in Cardiff. Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) accepted all terms this week for a clash against WBC heavyweight champion Fury (32-0-1, 23 KOs), and he’s now got little time to train before meeting up with ‘The Gypsy King’ on December 3rd. AJ and his promoter Eddie Hearn wanted December 17th and a 60-40 split for the rematch clause, but they had no option of getting what they wanted, as Fury wasn’t going to budge. Judging by Joshua’s physique in comparison to…

VANCOUVER — Elias Pettersson is ready to pick up where he left off last season with the Vancouver Canucks, when the forward looked like a much different player in the second half of the season than he did in the first. The 23-year-old finished with an NHL career-high 68 points (32 goals, 36 assists) in 80 games, but 51 of those points (26 goals, 25 assists) came in the Canucks’ final 43 games.”It was basically two different mes out there,” said Pettersson, who skated with teammates in Vancouver for the first time on Tuesday after flying in from Sweden late Monday…
The San Francisco 49ers were up against the Chicago Bears and a brutal summer storm in Week 1, ultimately falling short 19-10 in the regular season opener. While the loss was not the way the team had hoped to start the 2022 NFL regular season, head coach Kyle Shanahan and the team enter Week 2 with extra motivation to turn things around at home versus their NFC West rival, the Seattle Seahawks. One of the adjustments the 49ers will have to make in preparation for Seattle involves a personnel change—per Shanahan, San Francisco is expected to be without its top running…
In the midst of September, all 30 teams around the NBA are preparing for the start of training camp as the 2022-23 NBA season is set to begin in about a month. However, several key names and experienced talents remain free agents this offseason, one of which is Dennis Schroder. Since being traded from the Atlanta Hawks to the Oklahoma City Thunder ahead of the 2018-19 season, Schroder has consistently been a playmaker and scoring threat off-the-dribble with the ball in his hands, yet no team has really shown a willingness to commit to him long-term. Being traded to the…
ERWIN, Tenn. (WJHL)- It’s race week in the Tri-Cities, and while many drivers are preparing for the race one spent the day preparing the next generation of NASCAR fans and industry workers. Being able to get a younger generation to the race track and for them to experience it is definitely big,” said NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver Derek Krauss. He’s only a few years out of high school himself and hopes he can inspire students, like the ones he spoke with at Unicoi Co. High School Tuesday, to look at NASCAR as more than just a sport you…
ST. LOUIS — Coming into Tuesday, lefty Jordan Montgomery had been nearly flawless with the Cardinals, personally going 5-0 and his team winning all seven of his previous starts. Meanwhile, the Brewers entered as one of the NL’s weakest squads against left-handed pitching, and they had dejectedly taken notice of the rival Cardinals acquiring two difference-making southpaws before the Trade Deadline. So when Montgomery was hit as hard as he had been squared up since coming to the Cardinals in a trade from the Yankees, and the Brewers played well enough to take an 8-4 victory at Busch Stadium and tie…

For the St. Clairsville golf team, it’s no problem at all. The Red Devils — with a team of no player older than a sophomore in terms of eligibility —…
